Annie started teaching professionally at the age of 16 and her first examined pupil gained a distinction. Since then she has enjoyed a varied career as a piano teacher, classroom teacher, group music educator, workshop leader, conductor and senior music training advisor. Her experiences have equipped her with a wealth of knowledge in specialist areas such as dyslexia, early years and disaffected & disengaged teenagers. Trained in the Kodaly method by Yuko and David Vinden (British Kodaly Academy and the Kodaly Centre of London) she taught piano in a Kodaly Kindergarten in Surrey and has incorporated the method into her teaching for many years. She offers group and one-to-one kodaly sessions specialising in early years and can offer training to established teachers wishing to learn how to teach the method. She has been headhunted to teach at both Newcastle High School for Girls and The Sage Gateshead (Advanced programme). She has always had a love of teaching and hopes never to retire!
Annie is currently teaching piano at The Royal Grammar School, Newcastle High School for Girls and privately from her home in the North East.
